Born just outside of Detroit, Michigan to a musically-inclined family, Mark's formative years involved creative performances in school/church plays, classical piano recitals, a singing tour in the UK, and participation in his high school forensics team (Michigan state finalist for dramatic interpretation).

After graduating, Mark spent a few years operating under the conviction that “serious adults get real jobs behind desks with paperwork and stuff ”. That is, until a drama course at a local university rekindled his love for performance. Several plays and film projects later, Mark made the move to Los Angeles, dropped the corporate job, and committed fully to pursuing his calling as an actor.

Since relocating to L.A., Mark has brought a wide-array of lead characters to life in independent feature films, including a lovelorn flight attendant (Totally Sexy Loser), a butt-kicking cyberpunk (Internetrix) and a vengeful alcoholic paraplegic (Every Secret Thing).

Compelled to tell compassionate, uplifting stories of his own, Mark created Whoa Charlie! Productions in 2005. His first project, “Encore” was filmed in association with Roulette Films and New Spirit Cinema . In addition to heading up production on the project, Mark also wrote, co-edited and starred in it with Sally Kirkland . View the trailer for Encore by clicking here .

Also a nationally registered yoga teacher, Mark recently launched his own business, Balance Work Yoga. He is devoted to teaching dynamic, life-affirming yoga classes to corporations, studios and gyms throughout Los Angeles, including The Groundlings Theater. His mission is to bring the healing benefits of yoga to the world of corporate stress and work related injury.
